I am thrilled to be featured on Sheila Wray Gregoire’s blog To Love, Honor, and Vacuum with my article, “5 Tips to Teach Kids Shame-Free Sexuality“. If you aren’t familiar with Sheila’s work, she writes and speaks about Christian marriage and sex. Her blog, books, and podcast are a wealth of information for any Christian who wants to work on their marriage or sex life.
On her blog, I share 5 tips for teaching children shame-free sexuality, drawn from my work as a psychologist as well as my personal experience as a mom of a toddler! You’ll learn why I use the correct anatomical names for genitals, how children are sexual beings, and how I’m trying to instill a positive body image in my daughter. You’ll also see the importance of identifying which purity culture myths affect you so you can overcome the myths of purity culture and avoid passing on that shame to your children.
Check out my article and let me know what resonated with you. How are you teaching your kids about sexuality?
